Decathlon Ghana Limited has stood as the Official Retail Partner of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for a period of four years.
Under the agreement, Decathlon Ghana Limited will be GFA’s official retail partner for the sale of all Black Stars paraphernalia.
This was announced after the GFA signed a partnership agreement worth 1,000,000 GHc with sportswear retailers on Thursday, October 22.
Under the partnership agreement, the Decathlon Ghana partnership will provide one thousand (1000) Kipsta balls valued at one hundred and fifty thousand Ghana Cedis (150,000.00 GHc) per year for four years.
Under the agreement, GFA will also receive other supplemental sports products worth GHc100,000.00 per year over the four-year period for a total of GHc400,000.00.
At the launch of the partnership agreement at the Decathlon Retail store (Junction Mall), GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku announced that sports balls and products will be specifically allocated to the Women’s Premier League (WPL).
“This partnership will ensure that the women’s games are well equipped to allow them to excel in their discipline. Therefore, during the 4-year contract period, Decathlon Ghana will support the development of women’s football in Ghana in the amount of GHc600,000.00 ”.
“The GFA will also be honored to receive other complementary sports products valued at GHc100,000.00 per year, for a total of GHc400,000.00 for the four (4) year period under this agreement. All to be used by clubs in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), revealed the president of the GFA.
Decathlon Ghana’s national manager stated that it is an honor to support the development of Ghana’s soccer and reiterated the Sports Wear Company’s commitment to the agreement.
The launch was also attended by the French ambassador to Ghana, HE Anne Sophie AVÉ, who expressed her satisfaction with the partnership between the GFA and the French sportswear giants.
