GFA Executive Council approves new structure for arbitrators

The new structure is to ensure the separation of staff in the various arbitration functions in Ghana. It seeks to consolidate the achievements made so far and fight for new heights.

The structure includes the Referees Committee, the Match Review Panel, the Evaluators and Classification Panel and the Arbitration Department with different staff members who serve in each arbitration function to lead for greater effectiveness and a quick response to club complaints.

The Referees Committee will continue its work of appointing referees for all competitions and all matches organized or sanctioned by the GFA, including futsal and beach soccer matches.

The Evaluation and Classification Panel will analyze, evaluate and evaluate the performance of the referees by using a rating system provided by FIFA to classify and classify the referees to help the development, promotion and demotion of the referees by the Committee. Referees.

The Arbitration Department, whose responsibility includes providing administrative support and assistance to the Referees Committee, will be chaired by the Referee Manager, who will report to the GFA Secretary General.

The Arbitration Department will also have its own instructors (physical instructors and technical instructors) and other experts who will support the education of umpires in Ghana.

The GFA intends to implement a comprehensive referee development program to recruit and train referee advisers, referee instructors (physical and technical), beach soccer referees, futsal referees, women’s referees, grassroots referees (put them on young politics), talented and promising umpires. There will also be refresher courses for category 1, 2 and 3 referees.

The GFA would continue to invest in referees by providing the necessary equipment to assist in their work.

The new structure aims to ensure that the Association fully implements the FIFA regulations on the organization of arbitration in the Member Associations.
