The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has asked the public to participate in the Covid-19 vaccination exercise to save their lives and the lives of others.
Peter Gyasi, NCCE regional deputy director for Bono, said the vaccine was an additional preventative measure to support the use of nasal masks, frequent hand washing with soap under running water, the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers and social activities. distancing protocols, to prevent the pandemic.
Mr. Gyasi spoke at the post-election deliberation and review meeting of Bono’s Regional Inter-Party Dialogue Committee (IPDC) in Sunyani.
The meeting was organized by the NCCE Regional Bono Directorate to assess the electoral processes throughout the 2020 general elections and forge the way forward to protect peace and democracy in the region.
The Peace Council, the Security Services and the Regional representatives of all the Political Parties attended.
Gyasi said that Ghana for the past 30 to 40 years had not witnessed any fatal diseases such as measles, whooping cough, tetanus and diphtheria.
Therefore, he was optimistic about the safety of the COVID-19 vaccine and urged the public to dismiss rumors about the vaccine.
