GCB Bank Limited has announced the closure of its Kantamanto branch, in the Liberty House Building complex, in Accra’s Central Business District, following a fire on Saturday, November 28, 2020.
“For security precautions, the bank’s management has closed the Liberty branch to allow for a thorough evaluation.
“As a result, the Liberty House Bank branch will not be open from Monday, November 30, 2020 until further notice,” said the Bank’s statement, signed by its Managing Director, Mr. Kofi Adomakoh.
Advises branch clients to visit Okaishie, Makola, Republic House, High Street, Boundary Road, Ministries and any GCB bank branch of their choice or to use the bank’s alternative channels, including internet banking, mobile banking from GCB, ATMs and G-Money Mobile Wallet.
The statement explains that the fire, which was detected in a section of the Bank building in the early hours of Saturday, was successfully extinguished by personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) with support from the Ghana Police Service and internal security from the GCB Bank. and personal.
The statement also says that there were no casualties during and after the fire and that the Bank, located on the ground floor of the building, was not affected by the fire, adding that the cause and extent of the damage was being evaluated by the GNFS. and other technical experts.
“At the same time that we express our deep appreciation to the GNFS staff, the Police, the clients, the public for the support provided to the Bank during the fire, we also assure our clients that their funds are insured,” he added.
