Zimbabwean businessman Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure was buried today at a lavish funeral that would have been the envy of many politicians.
When news spread that Ginimbi had passed away, people were distraught, the man was casting a long shadow, and he was very popular. People often referred to him as the Minister of Entertainment.
Fans and friends posted moving testimonies of the man who was lived through by many.
The funeral was no small matter, he had set aside money for his own funeral and was described as presidential.
The funeral, according to his wishes, was all white and many of the guests respected his wishes and dressed in white.
It was a massive event, treated more like a party, which is exactly how Ginimbi intended.
Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Genius ‘Ginimbi’ Kadungure died in a car accident last week, along with his three passengers.
News of the socialite’s death has been dominating the online discussion, and recently it became online users who decided to hold the brand of the car Ginimbi was driving responsible for her death.
Thousands of commenters descended on the Rolls-Royce Facebook page, spitting anger and vitriol and blaming the car company for Ginimbi’s vehicle bursting into flames.
The Facebook page had comments alleging that the car’s design was flawed and that an expensive vehicle like a Rolls-Royce shouldn’t have reacted the way Ginimbi did in the accident.
Twitter exploded with opinions about the angry crowd, with many reminding commenters that they weren’t qualified or informed enough to make the types of comments they were posting.
In other news, Ghanaians were left in shock after news broke of the passing of former president Jerry John Rawlings.
This has taken many Ghanaians by surprise when they saw him healthy and cordial at the funeral of his mother, Mrs. Victoria Agbotui, about two weeks ago.
