Frank Lampard Says Iconic Players Coaching Their Old Teams Are Treated Differently Than Their Peers – Ghana Soccer Latest News, Live Scores, Results

Iconic players who continue to manage their former teams are treated differently from their peers, with “casual” criticisms that easily make their way through a difficult period.

That’s the view of Chelsea manager Frank Lampard as pressure mounts on his Manchester United counterpart Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Lampard and Solskjaer enjoyed glorious moments at Chelsea and United respectively before coming back in the top spot.

But Solskjaer’s position is under increasing scrutiny after his exit from the Champions League.

Lampard declined to comment on the Norwegian’s future, but said: ‘When you’ve played for the club, I think people see it from a different point of view.

“I think that in certain difficult moments it can be very casual and very easy to refer to the fact that you were a player and that’s why you got the job.

That can be used against you and all you do is try to work against it. Whether it’s me, Ole, or anyone else in that position, it’s not just the two of us who have taken that path, there are other managers.

‘This is how I feel about it. But one thing you can’t do is complain, you just get on with your job and I’m sure that’s exactly what Ole is doing behind the scenes, like I do every day here. ‘
