Inter Milan coach Antonio Conte interested in Chelsea’s trio in January
According to Football Italia (h / t Daily Mail), Inter Milan are eager to secure three stars from Chelsea in the upcoming January transfer period.
Now led by former Blues boss Antonio Conte, the Nerazzurri have been linked with several of our players in the past.
Having coached at Stamford Bridge, Conte is keenly aware of the player’s capabilities. Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has expressed his desire to sign at least two new players, giving Conte the freedom of action to make his move.
There are three of our requested fringe players at the San Siro. The trio includes Olivier Giroud, Emerson Palmieri, and Marcos Alonso.
All three are not key players on our team. While they may be decent backups, losing any of them wouldn’t be a huge loss to us.
Inter are eager to add a new forward and a full back. Giroud, despite his age, remains a reliable forward, while Alonso and Emerson are decent wingers.
Time to move on?
It is not the first time that Giroud has been linked to Inter. I really wanted to move on to the Serie A giants in January. He stood still and went on to play a key role in our fortunes after the lockdown.
With forward Romelu Lukaku injured, Conte wants the Frenchman to be signed.
Ben Chilwell is our first choice left back right now. Emerson and Alonso are, at best, backups. It wouldn’t be in the best interest of us if they both went through the same window. That is unless we cover up for Chilwell.
If we risk guessing, it would be Alonso who could be on the move. More so because he has not appeared since his fight with Frank Lampard.
More Chelsea news
Inter are also interested in Chelsea ace N’Golo Kante. However, the Frenchman is also seen as an unattainable target given his importance to the Blues.
Lampard also had a recent chat with the midfielder, assuring him of his important role in the Chelsea team.
