It has been a real debate over the last few weeks, whether Premier League clubs should be able to use 5 substitutes per game.
The current rule is only 3, but when football returned for the first time last season after the first coronavirus lockdown, clubs were allowed 5 substitutes due to circumstances.

This was well received by many clubs, with many advocating for the rule to be put back in place permanently.
Frank Lampard is one of those who backs the rule change and claims that England are behind as one of the only countries in Europe where they can still only make 3 substitutions per game.
“I don’t want anyone to cry for the players because we know how lucky we are, but the rest of Europe has five substitutes and we don’t.”
