Residents of Esumeja in the Bekwai Township of the Ashanti region have captured an alleged kidnapper.
They rescued four children.
The victims, two girls and two boys between the ages of 2 and 6, were abducted last week.
One of the victims escaped from a cemetery deep within the sacred forest of Asantemanso, where the victims had been held hostage for days, according to police.
The police along with some other residents carried out a search in the forest during which a young man was seen fleeing when he saw the search party. He was hunted down and arrested by the team.
The victims identified the suspect to the police.
The 23-year-old suspect, Michael Adomako, admitted to taking the victims into the woods.
A search conducted at the site revealed some feathered charms and some bloodstains.
The alleged kidnapper has been placed in pre-trial detention by a court in Bekwai.
He is expected to reappear on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 as police continue investigations.
The victims have returned to their families.
