For next week, football will recover: Kojo Oppong Nkrumah [ARTICLE]

Ghana’s football has been suspended since March 2020 after some cases of coronavirus were recorded in the country.

The government has relaxed restrictions on the ban on social gatherings and has also opened the airport for international travel, but football remains suspended.

The football fraternity is not happy that the beautiful game was not given the green light, despite a proposal from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to start the 2020/2021 season in October to sync national football with the European calendar.

The main opposition party in the country National Democratic Congress (NDC) has added its voice to the failure of the Government to sanction the return of football.

But Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has said that football will return next week after assessing the rate of infection of the coronavirus in Ghana.

Speaking to the media Hon. Oppong Nkrumah said

“Our president is a football fanatic, for next week, I think football will recover according to what we have achieved,
