The current New Patriotic Party (PNP) says that Andrew Amoako Asiamah, the Fomena deputy, is free to rejoin the party if he wins the December 7 election as an independent candidate.

Sam Pyne, the NPP Ashanti regional secretary stated in Joy News on Saturday: “If you win 2020 [parliamentary election] As an independent candidate, the house rules say you must align yourself with one … either the majority or the minority. ”

Sam Pyne added: “Hopefully he will come and say ‘I have won as an independent candidate but I want to align myself in Parliament with the majority.’

The current PNP has stated that it has expelled Asiamah, the incumbent Fomena deputy because he refused to renounce his decision to challenge the imminent December parliamentary elections as an independent candidate.

Asiamah lost the PNP primaries for Fomena earlier this year, but has been campaigning as an independent candidate ever since.

Following the recent announcement of his expulsion, the party has taken further action by writing to the President of Parliament requesting that his name as a PNP deputy be removed by Fomena.
