Ahead of Voting Day, December 7, Aspiring United for Victory, a group of political hopefuls who lost the New Patriotic Party (PNP) parliamentary primaries are mobilizing support for current President Nana Akufo-Addo.

The group that includes sitting MPs was formed for the sole purpose of gathering votes for the PNP.

Members of the group, however, said they will intensify efforts to get voters to come forward en masse to vote for the PNP on December 7.

Although the candidates lost their bid to represent the party in the 2020 parliamentary elections, they remain determined to ensure that the PNP maintains power.

Aspirant Unite for Victory coordinator Kennedy Kankam, at a press conference in Kumasi on Friday, November 27, 2020, said that they are confident of the victory of President Akufo-Addo.

Kamkam insisted that the only thing that will cause the defeat of the PNP is for people to sit at home and not go out to vote.

Therefore, he urged Ghanaians not to be complacent, but to vote their number for President Akufo-Addo.

“We are super confident of what we have seen on the ground that indicates that our standard bearer and leader of our party, the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will have a resounding victory in the general elections on December 7, and we (Aspirant Unite for Victory) is proud to have contributed significantly to achieving this. The victory that we are seeing its beacon and it comes at a great moment ”.

“From the research we have carried out, the only thing that will disturb the nuclear power plant is the people sitting in the houses and not going out to vote. Therefore, we urge all Ghanaians to come and vote en masse for President Akufo-Addo and all the PNP parliamentary candidates.

Meanwhile, a poll by the Department of Political Science at the University of Ghana has predicted a victory for President Akufo-Addo on December 7.

According to the survey, 51.7% of the 11,000 surveyed respondents said they will vote for the president Akufo-Addo.

The standard-bearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, is also expected to follow with 40.4% of the votes cast according to the poll.
