On a day when our focus should be on tonight’s crucial Champions League Group H showdown with RB Leipzig, agent Mino Raiola has made Paul Pogba’s unhappiness at Manchester United the subject of which everyone is talking.
In an interview with Tuttosport that airs today but was leaked yesterday, Raiola said ‘I can say it’s over for Paul Pogba at Manchester United’.
‘There’s no point beating around the bush … Paul is not happy at Man Utd, he can’t get to express himself how he wants and how people expect him to.
‘He needs to change teams, he needs a change of scenery. He has a contract that will expire in a year and a half, in the summer of 2022, but the best solution for all parties is a transfer in the next (summer) window. ‘
The comments themselves are quite disrespectful, but the timing of them almost sparks sabotage and an attempt to unsettle United on this crucial day.
It may be that the former pizza maker hopes the distraction will lead to United’s defeat, resulting in a loss of revenue, which could put pressure on the club to sell.
Sky Sports expert Jamie Carragher didn’t mince words about the situation:
‘Get rid’, he said in Monday Night Football via Skysports.com.
I think both of them are a disgrace.
‘Agents in this age are not just agents. They are parents, they are best friends, they are financial advisers.
So Pogba will know very well what is going to come out of his mouth, and if it isn’t, he should fire his agent. It’s very simple. That is all that must happen.
‘Pogba is not worth the hassle. Get rid of him.’
Gary Neville agreed.
Surely Paul knew he was making this announcement? If you didn’t know, we should see a quote from him very soon correcting his agent, ” the former United captain tweeted.
“Doing this before Leipzig and the Men’s Derby is a terrible time for the team.”
Raiola – It has happened many times before. However, surely Paul knew he was making this announcement. If you didn’t know, we should see a quote from you very soon correcting your agent. Finally, doing this before Leipzig and the Men’s Derby is a terrible time for the team. 😡

MEN’s Samuel Luckhurst believes that it was an accident that was about to happen and that the club should have acted sooner.
Pogba was offered to City and reveled in the firing of a United manager. Raiola has undermined Woodward, Solskjaer and now the club on the eve of a big game. United’s indulgence towards Pogba went against the spirit of the club and he has wanted to leave for more than two years. It has to be sold as soon as possible.

Having had a good showing on Sunday and with Fred suspended for tonight’s game, it seemed likely that Pogba would start tonight’s game. But it remains to be seen what United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will do with the 27-year-old now that this particular blue touch paper has been lit.
