The Bank’s head of Corporate Affairs, Richard Osei Anane, said there is a contract, but declined to reveal how much is involved.
The Bank has become the center of attention after Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) questioned an alleged GHc2.25 million paid to some personalities from the entertainment world.
Reports suggest that dancehall artist Shatta Wale was paid 2 million GHc, while actor Agya Koo was paid 250,000 GHc to promote products made in Ghana.

However, in reaction to the reports, Mr. Osei Anane said that there is a contract with the two celebrities, but noted that the amounts being quoted are inaccurate.
In a statement, he said that 15% of the real value of the contracts has already been paid to personalities.
“In short, we have actually signed contracts with the two artists who are renowned in their own field, but they haven’t even started their roles.” Exim Bank’s Head of Corporate Affairs told Accra-based Joy FM.
“Due to the fact that it is a contractual agreement between two parties, we cannot disclose any content.”
“We have signed a contract with the two artists, we have contractual obligations, we cannot disclose the amount, but all we want to say is that the amount quoted is not correct. I cannot disclose it due to contractual obligations.” added.
