Chairman of the Board of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Prof. Stephen Adei Chairman of the Board of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Prof. Stephen Adei

The chairman of the board of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Professor Stephen Adei, demands an apology from former President John Dramani Mahama for what he says is the falsehood that has been sold to him.

He maintains that he will advise himself after December 7, if the opposition presidential candidate NDC does not apologize to him.

However, Professor Stephen Adei denied Mr. Mahama’s claim that he (Professor Adei) is responsible for a financial misappropriation in the Authority.

John Mahama, in an interview with Insight newspaper editor Kwesi Pratt Jnr, accused Professor Adei last Saturday of colluding with the Finance Minister to illegally underestimate GRA’s mobilized revenue.

“Some of these things have been very criminal and I am surprised that Professor Adei, as president of GRA, could collude to do something as criminal as this,” Mahama alleged.

But a statement, Prof. Adei in a reaction to the claims argued that the accusations made against him are false, false and malicious.

“I, Emeritus Professor Stephen Adei, wish to declare that the accusation is false, malicious and inappropriate for someone who has been head of state and seeks the mandate of Ghanaians for another term in the high office of the president”, parts of the statement read.

“Alleging criminality and attempting against my integrity as a citizen with an immaculate career as an economist, diplomat, former rector, professor emeritus of Leadership and Economics, as well as one who is ethically not ashamed of being a born-again Christian, theologian and preacher of the gospel of Jesus Christ is the most unfortunate Juan, and doing so using social networks is unfortunate, “he added.
