The West African nation is making efforts to entice smart central defender to participate in the Black Stars, Kickgh.com can exclusively confirm.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has contacted Hamburg defender SV Stephan Kofi Ambrosius about the possibility of playing for Ghana’s senior team.

Kickgh.com You can exclusively report that the Ghana Football Association has contacted the 21-year-old guard and his family to convince him to represent the four-time African Cup of Nations champion in the senior category.

A close source told Kickgh.com that Black Stars coach CK Akonnor showed interest in the Hamburg-born central stalwart during his tour of Germany to monitor Ghana’s players.

Ambrosius is currently a key player for the German Bundesliga 2 club Hamburg SV after returning from an ankle injury.

He moved from the Hamburg SV youth teams to the senior team in 2018 after his splendid performance.

Ambrosius began his youth career at FC St. Pauli, before moving to the Hamburger SV youth system, where he worked his way up to being promoted to the second team in 2017.

On March 31, 2018, Ambrosius made his Bundesliga debut as a starter on March 31, 2018 in the matchday 28 away game against VfB Stuttgart, which ended in a 1-1 draw after Rick van Drongelen will replace him at half-time.

He returned to the pitch in June 2019 after spending 129 days in the treatment room due to an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.

Ambrosius has yet to represent Ghana or Germany at any level where it seems likely that he will choose to play for the Black Stars.

He was born to Ghanaian parents in Hamburg.

Kickgh.with understands that he could be part of Ghana’s squad to be invited to the 2021 African Cup of Nations double qualifying game against Sudan in November.

Ambrosius saw his entire duration at Hamburg SV a 2-1 home win over Fortuna Dusseldorf in their first Bundesliga II game on Saturday
