The German wants to make changes in the ring after the Black Stars failed to secure an early qualification for the 2021 African Cup of Nations after losing 1-0 to Sudan last month.
Lippert has questioned the technical ingenuity of former Hearts of Oak player and Asante Kotoko and wants him removed from the national team.
GHANAsoccernet.com understands that the 58-year-old has told his close associates that he is eager to see the serious coach’s back.
Details are vague, but the former head coach of the Azerbaijan Football Association Associations is believed to be unimpressed with the hard-talking Ghana coach’s work ethic.
Lippert is reportedly making moves for Duncan to be fired or replaced after being convinced he is unprepared for the job.
Duncan replaced Ibrahim Tanko following the dissolution of all the technical teams of the national teams in January this year.
But there is growing unrest within the Black Stars technical team amid fears of suspicion and sabotage, along with Lippert’s desire to see Duncan fired.
Duncan, widely regarded as a controversial figure, led Ghana’s U-17 team to silver at the 2005 U-17 African Championship in The Gambia and also served as the Ghana U-23 head coach in 2011.
The former Ashantigold player won trophies at Ashanti Gold, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko – Macufe Cup in 2006, GHALCA President Cup in 2013 and SWAG Cup 2015.
David Duncan has also had ties to FC Copenhagen, Esberg FC in Denmark and the South African team Free State Stars.
But it seems his association with the Black Stars is not going according to plan with moves to replace him and get him going.
The Black Stars continue to lead their group and remain in position to secure one of two qualifying spots when the series resumes in March of next year.
