Zoomlion Ghana Limited projects that by the end of 2021 all households in its operating area will have a garbage can.
This is expected to help communities reduce litter and stay clean.
It also aims to help Zoomlion collect debris with ease.
Speaking to the media at the climax of their annual Thanksgiving service, Zoomlion Ghana Limited North Regional Manager Peter Dawuni said indiscriminate dumping of waste in Ghana will no longer be tolerated.
He appealed to the people of the Northern Region to buy their containers, adding that the containers will come in two types; 240 and 120 liters.
Dawuni said that once someone expresses interest, they will be taken through the process of acquiring one.
He also mentioned that the company will hold a Thanksgiving service, as it forms an important activity on the sanitation giant’s calendar.
Mr. Dawuni revealed that during the Thanksgiving week celebration, company managers, as well as workers from far and near, will be encouraged to participate in all activities.
Mr. Dawuni expressed his gratitude to the stakeholders, various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDA), Regional Ministers, Chief Imams and all interested citizens who have contributed to the achievement of his work.
He also called on the general public to keep their environment clean because sanitation is not an endless but continuous exercise.
Thanksgiving would be held at the 260 Metropolitan District Municipal Assemblies (MMDA) across the country.
