Pan-African airline Ethiopian Airlines won the “Best Airline of the Year” award for the customer at the national customer service awards held in Accra.
Ethiopian beat out stiff competition from other reputable international airlines operating in the country based on customer appreciation for Ethiopian’s on-board and ground service, punctual performance, and its key role in helping stranded Ghanaians abroad bring the current pandemic home.
Ethiopian Airlines area manager Yemesrach Alemayehu noted that the award affirms the high quality of the airline’s service and shows that Ethiopian is a customer-centric airline with a global service delivery standard.
“The award will encourage all of us at Ethiopian Airlines to do more, continually improve our customer service and continue to be the leader in customer service in the country. Our Accra-Lomé-New York service, launched in October, presents another excellent opportunity to delight our Ghanaian customers both on board and ashore, ”said Ms. Alemayehu.
Asky and Ethiopian Airlines began their flights from Accra to New York via Lomé on October 15, 2020. The service offers the traveling public more options between Accra and the US.
The new service operates 3 times a week on Saturday, Monday and Wednesday. This complements the existing 4 weekly Asky / Ethiopian flights between Accra and Newark via Lomé.
Ethiopian has also received two Airbus A350s, one of the new aircraft from the French aircraft manufacturer Airbus, to better serve its passengers in their home region and abroad. This brings the number of A350 aircraft in Ethiopia’s fleet to 16.
All aircraft are configured to accommodate 30 business class passengers and 318 economy class passengers.
