The New Patriotic Party (PNP) inaugurated its campaign team in the Bantama constituency, Ashanti region, on Friday, August 28, 2020, to lead its agenda aimed at maximizing votes in the general elections on December 7.

The party says its goal is to obtain 95% of the popular votes in the constituency.

The team, which is co-chaired by the parliamentary candidate and the constituency chairman, aims to ensure that the party wins the presidential election to keep Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in office.

Speaking at the event, NPP parliamentary candidate for the Bantama constituency, Francis Asenso-Boakye, who is also deputy chief of staff to President Akufo-Addo, called on campaign team members to work in unison to achieve its objective.

He urged the team to sensitize the electorate about development projects in their environment in order to appreciate the government’s effort. “Let us involve all voters in our neighborhood, regardless of their party affiliation. We need to maximize our votes here to cancel those from our opponents’ strongholds. Let’s even persuade the members of the NDC and I think they will vote for us based on our history in government, “he added.

He advised the party to work hard to retain power and continue the government’s many development projects and policies.

Asenso-Boakye also urged party members to offer a helping hand to the campaign team by reaching out to the people and winning more souls for the party. She said, “The campaign is for all of us, and not just the members of the campaign committee. We should all play our role in the different electoral areas and polling stations to ensure the victory of 2020 ”.

He said the party has had a credible performance in government with several achievements under its feet. Therefore, the party has a message for the elections. “If you go to almost every community in Ghana today, you can point to something significant done by this government, apart from the many socio-economic interventions like free SHS, One District One Factory, NABCO and Planting for Food and Jobs,” he opined. .

The executive director of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Mr. Osei Assibey Antwi, who was present on the occasion, reminded party members that they must approach the upcoming elections with all the seriousness they deserve. “If the PNP had won the 2008 elections, Ghana would already be more developed. Therefore, we must work hard to maintain the achievements we have made under this government, ”he said.

Henry Kwabena Kokofu, a former Member of Parliament for Bantama, charged team members to carry out their mandate diligently by spearheading the party’s campaign in its main “world political bank” to vindicate the trust placed in them by the party leadership. . .
