Once Wonders coach Ignatius Osei-Fosu claims his team was the best team and deserved to beat Asante Kotoko after playing a throbbing 1-1 draw at Nana Ohene Ameyaw on Saturday April 3, 2021.
Techiman’s team needed a Samuel Boakye header in the 41st minute to disallow Fabio Gama’s goal in the sixth minute.
Wonders found the back of the net in the 43rd minute through Clement Boahene, but the assistant called him offside.
In the second half, the home team created more scoring opportunities with Michael Osei, striker Boakye and substitute Alex Asamoah closing in.
” We weren’t under pressure. The goal [Kotoko scored] I was against the development of the game, what happens in football, ” Osei-Fosu told StarTimes in a post-match interview.
“I was talking about the over-excitement she caused us but I feel like we could have defended her very, very well.
“And that’s the only thing I feel is the negative about this game, aside from the time when I think we played fantastic football.”
“ In the last five minutes we could have beaten them like three, but it is normal when you have new players, changing the system becomes difficult but I know they will come. ”
