President of the Pentecostal and Charismatic Council of Ghana, Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso President of the Pentecostal and Charismatic Council of Ghana, Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso

The president of the Pentecostal and Charismatic Council of Ghana, the Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso, warned members of the clergy not to prophesy to the winners of the December 7 elections.

Speaking on the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs’ commitment to the National Media Commission and religious leaders, Professor Frimpong-Manso argued that such practices can throw the nation into chaos if left unchecked.

According to him, the council has not sanctioned any prophecies about the impending elections.

He said, “We clergy must not go there and give prophecies about those who will win. We have seen what is happening in the United States. “

He noted that “in Ghana, we won elections by campaigning, selling our ideas, telling people to come and vote for us. And when we have voted, the electoral commission counts the votes and declares the winner ”.

“How can God say that party A will win and party B will win? It is confusion and it is ridiculous and these are some of the things that I will appeal to the clergy not to get involved in this. Unfortunately, all like this people think they are Pentecostals and Charismatics. And most of them we don’t even know them, we don’t know where they come from, we don’t know any body they’re under. “

However, Reverend Frimpong Manso insisted that “on behalf of GPCC, I am saying that we have not sanctioned it, we are not part of it and I believe that the continued prophecy about the winners will create confusion. Because ‘my prophet said that I will win, I have lost and someone has stolen my elections.’ That can only create confusion. “

“So as you report, please understand the leaders and pastors and also allow pastors and leaders to stay within our mandates. Not taking responsibility for declaring winners and creating confusion. “
