Former President John Mahama said he will take legitimate steps to ensure justice after Ghana’s Election Commission rigged the elections in favor of the Nana Akufo-Addo nuclear power plants.
“We are not going to accept anything other than a statement of legitimate results, which point to the majority of the NDC in Parliament,” said John Mahama.
“I cannot accept the de-fictionalized results of a flawed election,” he added.
NDC presidential candidate John Mahama addressed the media for the first time since the Ghana Election Commission announced the 2020 results.
He accuses President Akufo-Addo of using the army to intimidate and steal the will of the people.
John Mahama also mentions that one party wins majority seats in parliament, but that EC’s Akufo-Addo den conspire to steal the 5 majority constituencies where Democrats steal.
He made comparisons of what happened with how in 2016, as a starter when he loses the election, he gives in to an opponent.
But current events under Nana Akufo-Addo will not be democratic, he lamented at the low press conference.
Leaders of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) also say they should not accept the results of the 2020 presidential elections that Ghana’s EC President Jean Mensa announced.
“We reached an irresistible conclusion, we say that the election is flawed, discredited and we reject the presidential result without any reservations,” Haruna Iddrisu told Ghanaians.
“As a party, we carried out extensive consultations and a detailed analysis of the election result, as announced by Jean Mensa, president of the EC,” he added.
According to the NDC, there is much evidence to show that John Dramani Mahama won the election.
Meanwhile, President Nana Akufo-Addo tweeted after the victory thanking the citizens of Ghana for voting for him again.
