The Secretary General of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the launch of the 2020 electoral manifesto has described the party’s manifesto as a “product of the people’s own thinking.”

On September 7, 2020, the Democratic National Congress launched its manifesto at the Accra University for Professional Studies (UPSA) for the 2020 general elections scheduled for December 7.

Renowned party and state officials were present at the launch, namely: Haruna Iddrisu, Parliament Minority Leader, Asiedu Nketia, Party Secretary General, Committee Chairman, former Health Minister, Professor Kwaku Danso Boafo , who also served as a member of Ghana. Ambassador to Cuba.

Secretary General Asiedu Nketia in his speech revealed that the manifesto was inspired by the approach used in the drafting of the country’s current constitution, in which the input of the average Ghanaian was sought and included in its content.

Furthermore, he described the party’s 2020 Manifesto as “another product of thinking outside the box … and it is the people’s manifesto.”

Mr. Nketia expressed his confidence in the fact that the NDC party, through this manifesto, would solve “once and for all”, “the secular problem of underdevelopment of this country”, since the heart of the manifesto has been “derived from what people think is what suits them ”.

The launch of the Democratic National Congress was rescheduled from Monday, August 31, to Monday, September 7, 2020.

The director of Communications for the ruling New Patriotic Party (PNP), Yaw Buaben Asamoah, suggested that the NDC’s decision to postpone the launch of its manifesto from August to September was to allow the opposition party to copy the policies of the PNP manifesto. .
