The Electoral Commission (EC) has ensured that it is working to finalize the questions regarding the electoral results of the Sene-West constituency.
According to a statement issued by the Commission on Monday, the process is expected to be completed in the “shortest time possible.”
“The Sene West parliamentary elections have not yet been finalized and the result has been declared. The Commission assures the general public that it is working to finalize the Sene West constituency issues to allow for the transparent, fair, credible and peaceful conclusion of the process, ”it reads.
The seat, currently in dispute by both the New Patriotic Party (PNP) and the National Democratic Congress (PNP), is the only pending seat that has not yet been declared by the EC.
The Commission has advised both parties to use legitimate processes to seek redress in the matter.
The press release also indicated the number of parliamentary seats secured by the 2 main political parties in the recently completed general elections.
He noted that of the 275 electoral districts, 137 seats have been declared in favor of the PNP, with another 136 secured by the NDC, while the independent candidate, lawyer Andrew Asiamah Asamoah has 1 seat.
