Experienced journalist, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr. has launched a challenge to the grassroots of the opposition Democratic National Congress (NDC) to add the hunger strike to its demonstrations and extend it for the next 10 years.
NDC supporters have taken to the streets in protest that the Election Commission declared His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo President-elect.
The party and its presidential candidate, former President John Dramani Mahama, rejected the electoral verdict, claiming that the general elections were rigged.
They also claim that some parliamentary seats have been stolen for the ruling New Patriotic Party.
Contributing to Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” on Wednesday, Kweku Baako asked the NDC to use the appropriate forum to address their concerns.
But if the party refuses to use the correct channel, Baako suggested what they could do to encourage their protests in the streets.
“Let them demonstrate for the next 10 years. They should go on a hunger strike … They can do whatever they want. The only way they can get this verdict, that’s the presidential one and now the parliamentarian is to go to the forum. Nobody says that cannot be manifested. Sometimes, some people ask if that is not a democratic right. It is. What we are saying is that if you seek to cure the damage, the perceived damage of the electoral dispute, there is only one area. You can scream; you can make noise. You can undress and run through the streets “ criticized the NDC.
