The Ejisu district police have arrested 11 people suspected of being involved in various criminal activities in a raid carried out in some communities in the municipality.

The raid led by Inspector Julius Akpelime was to suppress criminal activities such as drug trafficking and theft that were increasing in communities such as Adadientem, Achinakrom, Abenase and Onwe.

Police Deputy Commissioner (ACP) Stephen Ngissah, Commander of the Ejisu Divisional Police, told the Ghana News Agency that the police were doing everything possible to rid the municipality of criminal activities that were increasing in the area.

He said suspects currently in police custody will be examined and those identified as involved in criminal activity will be prosecuted.

The suspects included 41-year-old Akwasi Frimpong, 34-year-old Kodjo Banir, 23-year-old Emmanuel Boakye, 40-year-old Noah Kwabena and 26-year-old Keane Addo.

The rest were Kweku Badu, 21, Kodjo Sarpong Okyere, 21, Agyeman Richard, 25, Nana Kwame, 21, Hayford Agyepong, 22, and Agyenim Boateng, 29.

ACP Ngissah said substances suspected of being narcotics were found in some of them during the raid.

He assured the residents of the area that the police were aware of the situation and urged them to provide information so that the police can arrest all the criminals in society.
