Youth Employment Agency (YEA) Public Relations Officer (PRO) and member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications team, Awal Mohammed has commended the current Election Commission for leading a transparent administration in Ghana.

According to him, the transparency of this new administration under the presidency Jean Mensa is incomparably superior to other administrations that the EC has had.

He shared this opinion on a panel discussion about the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ program with Kwame Afrifa Mensah.

“This is the most transparent CE we’ve ever had. The first time they came they met with various actors and assured that they will carry out a transparent administration. Even in the matter of acquisitions, they requested representatives of the political parties before buying the machines. They have launched the segment “Let Citizens Know”, which is the first of its kind. They always inform us of what is happening and nobody has said that they are false, “he said.

He added that even with the transparency of the EC, the opposition Democratic National Congress (NDC) has done nothing but cause problems for the EC. He said of the NDC, “Because they have no message for the people, they are blaming the EC.”

He pointed out that unlike the NDC, the NPP always wins against the EC in court because all the cases it has against the EC are legitimate.

A few months ago, the opposition Democratic National Congress opposed the EC’s decision to compile a new electoral roll. However, the EC went ahead with compiling the new voter register.

However, going forward, the NDC has warned that it will not accept a flawed election in December as NDC flag bearer John Dramani Mahama has stated that certain actions by the EC are likely to bring a flawed election.
