The Electoral Commission has released four more certified regional results from Monday’s polls, bringing to eleven the total number of certified regional results published so far from 16.

The additional four are from the Savanna, Ashanti, Upper East and Western regions.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo leads the presidential race so far with 3,986,803 votes, while his main opponent, Mr. John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is in second place with 3,528,894 votes.

Ghana’s voting ended Monday at 38,622 polling stations within Ghana’s 16 regions.

They cast their votes in general elections to elect a president and 275 members of parliament.

The voting process was generally peaceful, except for two people who were wounded by gunshot wounds after a shooting at one of the Kasoa polling stations.

The manipulation of presidential ballots was also observed in some polling stations in two electoral districts, but the EC reacted quickly.

The EC has assured the public that it will declare the results within 24 hours after the end of the vote.
