The Electoral Commission (EC) will begin printing the ballot papers for the presidential and parliamentary elections on December 7 today, Monday, October 26.

The EC has selected seven printers in Accra to spearhead this exercise.

Information collected by Citi News indicates that all qualified parties and independent candidates must nominate a representative to each of the seven printers to observe the exercise.

There are 12 parties on the presidential ballot.

Concern has been expressed about the length of this year’s presidential ballot due to the unprecedented number of qualified applicants.

However, Commission Vice Chair in Charge of Corporate Services, Dr. Bossman Eric Asare, said the challenge of more candidates can be met with better awareness.

“As we enter the final stretch of the election, the Commission will intensify its public education, especially on how to vote correctly as a way to reduce the number of rejected ballots,” said Dr. Asare.
