The Electoral Commission (EC) has extended the term for its exercise of Delegation and Transfer of votes by one day.

According to the commission, the exercise that was scheduled to end on Thursday, October 22, 2020, will now end on Friday, October 23, 2020.

The exercise by the electoral management body opened the voter transfer widow from Tuesday, October 20, 2020 to Thursday, October 22 to allow only groups of students who signed up while in school and some security personnel.

Furthermore, the exercise will also allow Ghanaian registered returnees from abroad to vote in their preferred districts in the upcoming elections.

To explain who qualifies for the proxy / transfer process, a registered voter who is a student or a member of the security service on special duties and resides in a constituency other than the one in which they registered may submit a request to the Return Officer. of the constituency where you reside so that your name is entered on the list of voters transferred from a polling station in that constituency.

Applicants must sign a statement from the Registrar’s Officer prior to being assigned to a new polling station.

In the meantime, the EC will compile the final voter registry that will be available to all political parties by November 11, 2020 before the next general elections.
