The Ghana Election Commission has withdrawn the results of the presidential elections that were declared on December 9, 2020, after admitting that they contained some errors.

A new post viewed by YEN.com.gh On the morning of Thursday, December 10, 2020, the commission’s verified Twitter identifier reveals that some corrections were made.

In a statement, the Electoral Commission clearly recognized that the President, Ms Jean Mensah, wrongly used 13,433,573 as the total valid votes cast, which was not the case.

According to the commission, the total number of valid votes cast is 13,119,460 and this does not change the percentages indicated for each candidate and the statement made by the President.

In the meantime, a video showing the atmosphere in former President John Dramani Mahama’s office shortly after he was declared to have lost the presidential election.

The footage seen by YEN.com.gh in the Youtube user of Ghanaweb it shows a solemn atmosphere with the faithful of the party walking calmly with sadness.

The Electoral Commission (EC) chaired by Jean Mensah declared that John Dramani Mahama’s NDC had lost the elections to the ruling president Nana Akufo-Addo.

The NDC candidate in the recently concluded 2020 elections, John Mahama, also made his first comment after the EC declared his opponent, Akufo-Addo, of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) the winner.
