Ebusua Dwarfs beat Berekum Chelsea to record the first win of the season
Cape Coast Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs on Sunday, recorded their first win of the season after a small win against Berekum Chelsea at Cape Coast Stadium.
Midget captain Dennis Korsah scored the only goal of the game in the first to give his team a hard-won victory.
Ebusua Dwarfs started the brighter game of the two sides and almost got a starter in the opening minutes of the game.
But the wait didn’t last long as captain Dennis Korsah broke the deadlock in the 21st minute.
Berekum Chelsea came back from halftime looking for a draw, but it was difficult to unlock the Dwarfs’ defense.
Meanwhile, the locals were comfortable with the slim advantage, ready to seize any attack opportunity. Despite Chelsea’s waves of attack in the final minutes of the match, the Cape Coast team worked hard to end the match with victory.
The dwarves will travel to Accra to face the Great Olympics with Berekum Chelsea hosting Liberty Professionals at Golden City Park.
Karela FC bounce back to beat Dreams FC at home
Karela United FC rallied from a goal down to beat Dreams FC 2-1 at Crosby Awuah Memorial Park on Sunday.
Karela, who started the campaign with an away draw against a draw against Ashanti Gold, remains unbeaten in the League after three rounds of games as he achieved a 1-0 win against Inter Allies on matchday two.
Joseph Esso scored to give Dreams FC an early lead in the 36th minute. His second goal of the season after scoring last weekend in a 2-1 win over Medeama SC.

The midfielder scored again in the 65th minute to give Karela United the lead and eventually held on to secure victory.

West African Football Academy on Sunday struggled to draw 1-1 with Elmina Sharks at Red Bull Arena in Sogakope.
The Academy boys who beat King Faisal 4-3 on the first weekend of the season were desperate for three points after a disappointing scoreless loss to Bechem United on matchday two.
Elmina Sharks drew the first blood through Justice Mensah. His long-range shot deflected from a WAFA player before closing in on the net, beating goalkeeper Ferdinand Sabi Acquah on the post for the Sogakope boys. Mensah’s 41S t A minute of strike unsettled the host as he continued to lose possession to the visitors.
They were finally made amends in the second half when Daniel Agbloe’s ball hit the crossbar line before cutting through it for Augustine Boakye to connect wonderfully home to make it 1-1 at 51S t minute.
WAFA then took the game to their opponents after seeking the tie, but Yaw Acheampong’s side held their ground to avoid a surprise.
The presentation of Eric Asamany and Michael Dwamena did them a lot of good, since they brought bite in the attack third. The tie means that WAFA has yet to win since the opening day victory against King Faisal.
Aduana Stars tie in white against Bechem United
Two-time champion Aduana Stars drew goalless on Sunday against regional rival Bechem United at Nana Agyemang Badu I Park in Dormaa.
The Ogya boys played without the spirited Yahaya Mohammed, who suffered a shoulder injury against King Faisal last weekend. The game was spread evenly as the visiting team showed no signs of fear playing in the dreaded Dormaa Park.
He bravely fought making life difficult for him alongside coach Paa Kwasi Fabin. The result leaves Bechem United with 5 points while Aduana Stars moves to two points with one game in hand.
Liberty Professionals held by Eleven Wonders
Forward Kwame Karikari scored for the second time in a row for Liberty Professionals, but the goal was not enough to deliver them three points as Techiman Eleven Wonders drew 1-1 at home on matchday three of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.
The visitors took a lead in the 43rd minute at Carl Reindorf Park before the Scientific Soccer boys regained parity a minute later through Kwame Karikari.
Returning from recess, the visiting team looked more comfortable with a brilliant interpositional game as Tetteh Nortey, Salifu Ibrahim, Salifu Mugeese and Felix Akorlor continued to pressure the Liberty Professionals defense.
Ahmed Satar almost landed a late goal for Liberty Professionals with his free kick, but his effort was stopped by Wonders’ keeper.
The result means the Liberty Professionals remain winless after earning just three points from their first three games of the season. Whereas Eleven Wonders have recorded one win and two draws so far.
Legon Cities shares loot with Medeama SC
Legon Cities FC and Medeama SC remain winless after both teams settled for a throbbing 0-0 draw at Accra Sports Stadium on Friday.
Medeama’s coach Samuel Boadu made two changes to the team that lost 2-1 to Dreams FC, playing Ali Ouattara and Rashid Nortey in place of Ibrahim Yaro and Michael Yeboah.
Legon Cities manager Wahid Mohammed made his debut with former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan. Gyan was introduced in the 70sth minute of the game and showed traits of his old self.
For Medeama SC, Judge Blay teamed up with Rashid Nortey and Eric Kwakwa in midfield, but it wasn’t enough as the two teams shared the spoils.
It was interesting to see Jonah Attuquaye show some fancy football against the Tarkwa boys.
The two teams remain winless in the three-week Ghana Premier League.
