Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was in Takoradi, the capital of the western region, on Tuesday, September 15, 2020, for a one-day working visit, where he started the day with the commissioning of a liquid bulk terminal. of 56.7 million dollars in the port of Takoradi.

Dr. Bawumia also cut the grass for the construction of a new Phase Two Dry Bulk pier.

According to him, “The efficiency of the new Liquid Bulk Terminal, which has five loading arms for five products, namely: gasoline, diesel, LPG, heavy fuels and bitumen, will help BDC companies avoid delays , which translate into high cost of stay. ”

Dr. Bawumia further stated that the expansion of the facilities at the Takoradi port underscores the government’s commitment to improving shipping, “which is important for the growth of our economy.”

After that, he attended a lawn mowing ceremony for the construction of the first interchange in the Western Region at the PTC roundabout in Takoradi.

This brings to six the number of exchanges that the government has initiated in its first term.

Dr. Bawumia also inspected the ongoing road projects in Kansaworodo, mowed the grass for the construction of a market in the same area, and also inspected the ongoing construction of the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly office in Kwesimintsim.

The vice president’s visit also took him to the Secretariat of the House of Chiefs of the Western Region, where he inaugurated the reconstituted House of Chiefs of the Western Region, following the creation of the North Western Region outside the Western Region.
