Borussia Dortmund reportedly have a deal with Marco Rose to replace Lucien Favre as coach.

The German giants captured Favre following Saturday’s 5-1 home loss to newly promoted Stuttgart, which leaves them fifth in the table and six points behind leader Bayer Leverkusen.

According to the Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio; Dortmund have a deal in principle for the Borussia Monchengladbach coach to take over at the end of the season.

The Westfalenstadion team has already started their search for a new coach after confirming that they fired Favre on Sunday afternoon.

The 63-year-old led the club to the knockout stages of the Champions League as group champion, however his poor form in the Bundesliga left him in a precarious position.

The Blacks and Yellows lost four of their last five league games; and his good form in Europe just wasn’t enough to keep the Swiss coach in the warm seat.

Dortmund have confirmed that assistant coach Edin Terzic will take the reins as interim boss until the end of the season.

Mönchengladbach manager Rose and Red Bull Salzburg boss Jesse Marsch are among the favorites to take over in the summer.

Another technician who could be in the account is Mauricio Pochettino; The former Tottenham boss has been out of work for more than a year and is eager to return to management.

The 48-year-old Argentine has been linked to a number of jobs including Zenit St. Petersburg, Manchester United and Real Madrid.

However, it remains to be seen whether Pochettino would be willing to wait another six months for the Bundesliga club position to become available.
