The Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) has sent a letter to all of its member churches asking Christians not to use political party paraphernalia in church on Sunday.

This, according to the Council, is for the sake of peace, unity and national cohesion.

The council is concerned about rising tensions in some parts of the country following the declaration of the winner of the recently concluded presidential elections.

In a letter signed by the Reverend Cyril Fayose, the council’s general secretary, addressed to all of its member churches on Wednesday, he urged supporters of the winning candidate (PNP) to celebrate moderately and avoid any activity that may lead to violence with their opponent. politician. .

The council has also asked NDC presidential candidate John Mahama to graciously accept defeat to promote peace in the country.

He also pleaded with all pastors to use Sunday, December 13, 2020, to thank Almighty God for the peaceful elections held and to preach unity among the population.
