A group in the Asante Region that identifies itself as the Concerned Youth of Asante, led by Nana Agyenim Boateng, warned the National Patriotic Party (PNP) not to neglect the needs of the Region.
They asked President Akufo-Addo to consider the volume of votes that he gets in the Region and measure it against the development projects taking place there.
“When we look at the volume of votes that we gave to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in relation to development, it doesn’t correlate. Almost four years have passed, we want them to identify physical projects started in our region ”, he said.
The group went on to compare the projects of former President John Mahama during his tenure as president with that of President Akuffo Addo.
“It took John Mahama less than three years to build Kejetia, build military hospitals and community schools in Asanteman, and yet we did not vote for the Democratic National Congress in the Asante region,” he added.
The group regretted the PNP’s action and demanded more than empty promises.
“To whom much is given, much is expected. If you remember in 2017 Ken Ofori Atta, the current Minister of Finance, read a budget in Parliament that they came to build several exchanges in the Asante region. But they didn’t, “he said.
The group is pushing tirelessly for a positive response from the party and will not rest on its laurels until the change happens.
