The opposition NDC has reiterated that it will not accept the results of a flawed election.

The latest NDC warning comes after the party alleged that the EC was deliberately removing the names of its members from the newly compiled voter registry after omissions were identified at some polling stations across the country during the exhibition exercise. in progress.

The EC has denied the accusation and subsequently extended the duration of the exercise by two more days, until the end of September 27.

But party standard-bearer John Dramani Mahama warned the electoral management body that its credibility was at stake and it must implement measures to ensure that the next vote is fair to all concerned.

Although Mr. Mahama acknowledged that the NDC has shown restraint since the electoral process began, he stated that the party will not allow the EC to usurp the mandate of the people.

Addressing the nation on Thursday, September 24, Mr. Mahama noted that “we at the NDC have shown restraint at all times in this electoral process, even now we are committed to doing so. But we will not accept the result of a faulty election. ”

He continued: “We certainly will not look at, nor will we shirk our civic responsibility and allow the EC, whether it intends or through sheer incompetence, to usurp the mandate of the peoples in the December 7 elections.”

“We want to see fairness, transparency and integrity in the pre-election process. The EC will assume responsibility and act in good faith to resolve them, ”he added.
