The chairman of the New Patriotic Party, attorney Freddie Blay, has warned Ashanti’s regional parliamentary candidates to work hard for the party’s victory.
The former MP who spoke at the recent Ashanti regional parliamentary exposition was optimistic about the outlook for the candidates already elected MPs for their constituencies, but tasked them to work harder for the party’s victory.
President Blay congratulated the parliamentary candidates on their courageous victory during the parliamentary primaries and asked them to use the same procedure they used to win their parliamentary primaries to secure more votes for the party in the 2020 elections.
He said that President Wontumi’s agenda to snatch the 47 sests in the Ashanti region must be adopted by the party and parliamentary candidates.
Many party supporters who accompanied their PCs to the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology were entertained throughout the program despite the fact that the program’s keynote speaker, President Akufo-Addo, was unable to attend the event.
The chairman of the country’s largest political party told supporters that the Ashanti region is the “engine” of the party and as long as the engine starts, the party can move.
The chairman of the GNPC board of directors said the main motive for the program was to introduce parliamentary candidates to their various constituencies for acceptance and work hard for the party’s victory.
He said that the victory is about to be repeated in the sense that there used to be 65 PNP MPs, but now the PNP has 163 MPs who are ready to win more seats for the party.
The highly confident president said the NPP is not only watching the 2020 elections, but also the 2024, 2028 and 2032 elections to the cheers of team supporters.
President Freddy, as he was affectionately called, said that all regional presidents are working hard to ensure the victory of the PNP.
He told the PCs not to be complacent and added that they shouldn’t take things for granted. He said NDC is struggling to come to power, but NPP is working hard and will leave no stone unturned.
Among the dignitaries who honored the occasion were Dr. Addo-Kufour, SK Boafo, Kyei Mensah Bonsu, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh.
