THEOne of Donald Trump’s personal assistants, Nick Luna, tested positive for coronavirus.
Luna had traveled with the president several times recently, a White House official said Saturday night.
The official was not authorized to discuss the matter by name and requested anonymity.
Despite failing to protect the president and senior staff from infection, the White House has given no indication that it intends to make major changes to protocol, such as requiring everyone to wear a mask.
Jennifer Jacobs, a White House Bloomberg News reporter, took to social media to say that Mr. Luna, “as a bodyman,” works “very closely with the president, so it’s not surprising.”
“Another factor that is unsettling White House aides tonight is that Nick Luna is married to Cassidy Dumbauld, who is an aide to Jared Kushner. More people in the circle around Trump’s senior adviser diagnosed with coronavirus,” Ms. Jacobs.
Kushner is the husband of Ivanka Trump and a senior presidential adviser.
