The Supreme Head of the Dormaa Traditional Council, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang-Badu II, has asked the Electoral Commission (EC) to guarantee free, fair and transparent elections in the upcoming general elections on December 7, 2020.

Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang-Badu made the call when the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. John Dramani Mahama, paid him a courtesy visit.
at his palace in Dormaa Ahenkro on Thursday to conclude his tour of the Bono region.

The Dormaahene noted that the recent display of the EC’s provisional electoral roll presented many challenges.

“I will therefore beg the EC to do the right thing, because we love peace in Ghana and with all borders closed, where do we go when something adverse happens?”

Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang-Badu also expressed concern about the alleged training of thugs by some political parties to cause chaos on Election Day and urged the various security services to ensure that the country’s peace and stability are not put in danger.

Advising supporters of the various political parties to commit to promoting peaceful elections, he said it is imperative that security personnel are fair in the performance of their duties before, during and after elections.
