Liverpool winger Diogo Jota spoke about the haunting feeling he had while playing at Anfield and also touched on his future according to the Daily Star.

Jota has quickly come to life in Liverpool since completing a £ 45 million move from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer transfer window.

Since then, the 23-year-old has scored seven goals in 11 games and has rightly cemented his place alongside the experienced Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

However, Jota has revealed that his first games as a Liverpool player were not what they seemed at the time.

In an interview with Portuguese TVI outputThe forward said: “When I first signed at Anfield, they asked me what my feeling was and I said that for it to be perfect I had to play in a packed stadium to have that feeling even more special.

The Portugal international also spoke about how he really feels about his long-term future at Anfield, saying: “I try not to think about the long future. I came here to do my best, I didn’t aim for anything in particular and when that’s the case, there are no disappointments or surprises.

“I am in one of the best teams in the world, if not the best, so I have to take advantage of that. And looking forward, if I am focused, I know I will have many opportunities.

“Liverpool have great players and I came here to be one of them and help win titles, especially since I don’t have as many as they do!”

As the interview progressed, Jota fondly shared his feelings for Reds boss Jurgen Klopp and the influence his management has had on his game so early.

“He is a different coach than anyone I have had, especially in terms of contact,” Jota continued.

“He sent me a text message a few days ago, something that is not very common in a coach.

“I was on the couch, resting, I wasn’t even waiting for a message and I got a message from him.

“He likes to be close to the players, both on and off the field.”
