Dietmar Hamann criticized Erling Haaland’s father and agent for trying to orchestrate a mid-season move after Borussia Dortmund were defeated again on Saturday.

The German giants were defeated 2-1 at home by Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday in the top four, leaving them seven points behind the Champions League places with seven games to play.

The defeat comes after Dortmund Haaland star forward’s father Alf Inge and agent Mino Raiola were spotted in Spain this week negotiating deals with Barcelona and Real Madrid, with reports indicating the pair also discussed possible deals with teams of the Premier League.

According to German media outlet BILD, Dortmund approved of the couple’s much-discussed trip to Spain, but Hamann criticized the Bundesliga club for allowing the move just days before a crucial match.

Hamman told Sky Germany: ‘It is the most important game of the season and you cannot address this behavior because you are afraid of disturbing the player.

“Dortmund should think about why the players always run over them. They lack leadership there.

“The behavior of Haaland and Raiola’s father is indescribable, disrespectful, shameless. If he wants to go, let him go.

“Dortmund paid a lot of money for an 18-year-old, he should be happy to be able to play there.”

Haaland is one of the highest rated forwards in the world having scored 33 goals in 32 games in all competitions so far this season.

Dortmund’s 20-year-old tally is now 49 goals in 50 games since his £ 17 million move from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020.

Sportsmail exclusively revealed last month that Manchester City are leading the race for Haaland’s signing, with Real Madrid and Chelsea also at the negotiating table.

Although it seems that Barcelona is also in the discussion after Alf Inge Haaland and Raiola were picked up by Joan Laporta’s assistant at Barcelona airport on Thursday morning.

If he were to go ahead with a big money move, Haaland would be the last in a string of Dortmund stars to leave the club for big money in recent years.

The likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ousmane Dembele and Christian Pulisic have passed into the European elite for significant benefits.

BILD reported over the weekend that Dortmund would not be open to receiving offers of less than £ 100 million for their star striker, despite the fact that the Norwegian has not scored in his last four games for the club and the country.

But Dortmund’s latest defeat on Saturday, which came courtesy of Andre Silva’s late goal after Dortmund defender Mats Hummels disallowed an own goal by Nico Schulz, has minimized Dortmund’s chances of reaching the Champions League. the next season.

Dortmund now have to make up for a large deficit with Frankfurt in fourth place, although the German team could qualify if they win this season’s Champions League.

The Ruhr-land club will face Premier League champions Manchester City in the quarter-finals and would play Bayern Munich or PSG in the semi-finals if they beat Pep Guardiola’s side.

Speaking about his four best hopes, Hummels said after the loss in Frankfurt: ‘The chances are slim, we have to be very clear.

“That would be a sporting and financial disaster, now we are close (to that).”
