Dan Kwaku Yeboah, the director of Sports for Pese a los Medios has described Diego Armando Maradona as an ‘epitome of football intelligence’.
Dan Kwaku Yeboah says that Maradona possessed all the qualities expected of a footballer and his soccer brain was equal to none.
“Maradona was an epitome of intelligence, skill, position and all the qualities of football that you can imagine as a footballer,” he told GhanaWeb.
When it comes to the greatest storyline of all time, the names of four players are mentioned.
The controversial issue often divides soccer fans along the lines of Messi, Pelé, Ronaldo and Maradona.
Kwaku Yeboah, although a huge Messi fan, believes that in the history of the game, no one has been more elegant than Maradona.
He drew similarities between Pelé and Cristiano Ronaldo and compared Messi with his Argentine compatriot Maradona.
“I think that in the early 2000s, FIFA conducted a poll for football lovers and connoisseurs of the game to choose between Messi and Ronaldo which was the best. Maradona won the polls. Maradona for me is the best player in the history of football ”.
“Maradona combines skill and scorer. World Pele is molded in the mold of the current Ronaldo. He was a great scorer but in terms of skill and precision you cannot compare Maradona with anyone ”.
He also recounted the two experiences of Maradona that made him recognize him as the most outstanding footballer in history.
“My biggest memory was in 1990 during the World Cup in Germany when Argentina played against Cameroon. Before kick-off, he caught the ball and did his thing with it and it was a pleasure to watch.
“Also in 1994, when they played Nigeria in the World Cup, Nigeria drew and the game was headed for a draw. Argentina had a free kick and on everyone’s blind side, they put it on Caniggia for the winning goal. It was amazing and very smart of him. “
