The PNP parliamentary candidate for Bantama, Francis Asenso-Boakye, held a breakfast meeting Monday with ministers and pastors from various churches within the constituency.
This was part of a series of engagements with relevant stakeholders ahead of the December elections.
The meeting provided the deputy chief of staff an opportunity to interact and listen to pastors’ concerns and challenges facing the church.
Asenso-Boakye also used the occasion to formally present himself to the men and women of God as the New Patriotic Party (PNP) parliamentary candidate for the December elections.
The deputy chief of staff said the PNP, under the Akufo-Addo presidency, has prepared Ghana for a massive socio-economic take-off following the fulfillment of its key campaign promises.
“In its first year of introduction, about 80,000 children were able to enroll in school thanks to the Free SHS policy. The number increased to approximately 180,000 in the following year.
“All these school-age children would not have had access to secondary education if it weren’t for SHS’s free initiative,” he said.
“A recent report from the police service reveals a decrease in crime rates in the country. This can be attributed in large part to the fact that there are now more young men and women in school, unlike before, where they spent their time engaging in social vices, “he added.
“Again, due to the introduction of the Planting for Food & Jobs (PFJ) program, the country no longer imports corn. Rice imports have also been drastically reduced and we can now export various foods, including bananas, to our neighboring countries, ”said Asenso-Boakye.
He also said that there are a total of 180 One District One Factory (1D1F) projects underway in various stages across the country.
“About two weeks ago, President Akufo-Addo commissioned the Ekumfi fruit factory in Ekumfi. The factory employs more than 500 Ghanaians, both skilled and unskilled, and has employed thousands of farmers. ”
Asenso-Boakye said that with these agreements in place, Ghana is poised for a smooth economic take-off in the next term of President Akufo-Addo and the PNP.
Therefore, he appealed to ministers and pastors to help spread the good works of government to their congregations.
Speaking on behalf of the clergy, the Rev. Nuh Ben Abubakar of the Methodist Church expressed his gratitude to Mr. Asenso-Boakye for the diverse contribution and assistance to the constituency and its constituents.
He assured that they will continue to pray for him and President Akufo-Addo to fulfill their mandate.
