Dannex Ayrton Starwin (DAS) PLC, a pharmaceutical manufacturer, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a healthcare provider, mPharma Pharmaceuticals Limited, to boost the country’s healthcare supply chain.

Under the agreement, mPharma will distribute DAS PLC’s more than 80 pharmaceutical products through its networks in Ghana in the shortest time possible.

Addressing the media after the signing ceremony in Accra last Wednesday, Kissi expressed satisfaction with the agreement and said it would pave the way for the two sides to work together to strengthen the country’s healthcare supply chain. .

“We are very excited about the agreement. At the end of the day, it’s all about getting proper medical care in Ghana, so this deal will be beneficial to the people of Ghana.

He said that DAS PLC was the manufacturer and distributor of high-quality pharmaceuticals that was trying to improve its supply chain by using mPharma as an appropriate channel to reach more consumers.

According to him, the agreement is a collaborative agreement that seeks to deepen the steps of both parties in the health supply and distribution channel.

“The agreement, therefore, is not about the DAS PLC brand, but about a collective benefit on a mutual basis,” he said.

The Executive Director noted that the parties were willing to work together to ensure that pharmaceuticals were available to meet the needs of Ghanaians.

“Given the type of supply chain and infrastructure implemented by mPharma, we have no doubt that pharmaceuticals will get where they are needed,” he said.

He said he was optimistic that the deal with mPharma would help improve DAS PLC’s ranking from being among the top three players in the country to becoming number one.

“We believe that we are among the top three players in Ghana and this agreement will further improve our ranking,” he added.

The Asociation

For his part, mPharma Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Gregory Rockson described the partnership between DAS PLC and mPharma as strategic and would advance the healthcare distribution channel.

“We are here to sign a long-term collaboration with DAS PLC to ensure that we can guarantee the availability and supply of medicines for the people of Ghana.

“We believe that it is important to work with a local manufacturer like DAS PLC to build resilience within our drug supply chain to ensure product reaches consumers,” he said.

COVID-19 impact

In a period when the global healthcare supply chain has been affected by the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), he said that such a partnership was crucial to building self-reliance.

He added that mPharma would continue to collaborate with healthcare sector stakeholders to improve healthcare delivery across the country and beyond.
