Raphael Dwamena’s career has suffered another major setback after his Danish Superligaen team Vejle Boldklub terminated his contract due to a recent heart problem.
The club announced on Monday, October 26, 2020 that they have been forced to remove the Ghana striker from the field.
Dwamena’s heart problem was identified during his loan to Real Zaragoza last year and was canceled.
The Levante-owned player underwent heart surgery in January, where the 25-year-old attacker had an ICD implantable cardioverter defibrillator to track his heart rate.
When he arrived at the Vejle, the health personnel and the medical team of the club monitored him – in training and during games – and have concluded that it will be risky to continue playing with him.
Vejle Boldklub Technical Director Jacob Krüger explained: That now there has been a case where the limit values have been too high, we must, based on a professional health assessment as a club, take the consequences. Therefore, Raphael is taken off the field.
“We are sorry, of course, on behalf of Raphael, but the parties have been aware from the beginning of the consequence that would have been the case if Raphael’s tracking had exceeded the limit values in the measurement.

Dwamena scored two goals in five games.
