Dagbon peace will bring investors to the northern region – Siaw-Agyepong

The Chief Executive Officer of the Jospong Group of Companies (JGC), has praised the overlord of Dagbon, Ya-Na Abukari II, for bringing peace to the kingdom and, by extension, the entire northern region.

Dr. Joseph Siaw-Agyepong said that the current peace in Dagbon and indeed the entire Northern Region will help attract investors to the region to achieve development.

“I want to take this opportunity to congratulate you first, on your rise to fur, and second, on your tireless efforts to bring peace to the Kingdom of Dagbon, a place where investors some years ago were nervous about investing.

“… but through his ascent to the skin, he has brought peace and development to Dagbon,” stated Mr. Siaw-Agyepong.

He made the eulogy when he led a high-powered delegation accompanied by Northern Regional Minister Salifu-Saeed to pay tribute to the Supreme Lord of Dagbon, Ya-Na Abukari II, at his Gbewaa Palace in Yendi in the Northern Region.

Mr. Siaw-Agyepong, who is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, promised to support Ya-Na Abukari II in any development initiative he undertakes for the people of Dagbon.

He again praised the Supreme Lord of Dagbon for appointing Sulta Na as Head of Sanitation, stating that it was a good initiative that “my company [Zoomlion] will support to make sure Dagbon and the entire northern region are always dirt free.

He also took the opportunity to brief Ya-Na Abukari II on his company’s plans to build solid and liquid waste treatment facilities in the Northern Region as part of efforts to improve sanitation in the region.

He revealed that funds and equipment had been secured, which will see the two projects start soon. He said that when the two projects are completed, 125 direct jobs and more than 500 indirect jobs will be created, respectively. “

According to him, Zoomlion, which today has gained international fame, began its humble beginning in the North Region, using tricycles to collect and dispose of solid waste.

While recognizing Dr. Siaw-Agyepong for his pivotal role in the country’s development, Ya-Na Abukari II made a passionate call for peace, especially as the country will go to the polls in a few months.

“Finally, as December 7 is almost upon us, my humble and persuasive call for peace is in recognition of the turbulent period of our electoral campaigns and the palpable tension it awakens. Dagbon has had its past experiences when it comes to rivalries and part politicking, “he said.

In this context, Ya-Na Abukari II highlighted the need for Ghanaians to show restraint and tolerance towards dissenting views.

He assured that he will continue to defend peace in Dagbon and therefore called on the media to also help promote peace throughout the country.

Earlier, upon the arrival of the Zoomlion delegation, the Gbewaa Palace went into a frenzy as Ya-Na Abukari II entered the palace amid drums and dancing to various traditional songs.

Later, Mr. Siaw-Agyepong presented 50 bags of rice, 10 gallons of cooking oil, 100 garbage cans, Zoomlion-branded T-shirts, and business newspapers to the Overlord of Dagbon in support of the East Fire Festival celebration. year. He also gave an amount of ¢ 10,000 to Ya-Na Abukari II and his family and elders from the Gbewaa Palace.
