Harry Kane put Tottenham in the lead after 23 minutes, but a strong display from Crystal Palace saw them pinned to the North London side for most of the game.
Crystal Palace manager Hodgson praised his players and described the draw as well deserved.
“I thought the team was very, very good. I thought the second half performance in particular was of the best drawer quality. I thought the draw was well deserved after a sustained period in which it seemed like we were going to get the tie, “‘he said after the game.
“Of course in the last five minutes in particular Vicente showed his true class. We gave away a couple of free kicks that he was not very happy to have given away. When the ball can be delivered in our penalty area and that led to kicks from corner, that’s when Vicente showed his true class with two magnificent saves “.
