The Ghana Police Service has introduced new Covid-19 restrictions and a security protocol for all religious gatherings before and during the Easter Holidays.
Even though Covid-19 cases are beginning to stabilize, thanks to the national vaccination program, the Ghana Police Service believes the country is not out of the woods yet.
In a public statement, the police service noted that all religious bodies should not exceed 2 hours of services.
According to the Director of Public Affairs, Sheilla Kessie Abayie-Buckman, all people who visit the church or mosque must have their names and contact details registered with the church or mosque they visit.
In addition, the Ghana Police Service has appealed against the use of air conditioners in places of worship; rather, they should have fresh air ventilation.

Meanwhile, the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has assured that the government is working hard to buy an additional 42 million doses of COVID-19 by the end of 2021.
According to him, talks about the vaccine are well advanced for his entry into the country.
This, he said, is equivalent to saying that by the end of the year, the entire adult population would be vaccinated.
The country inventoried 600,000 vaccines through COVAX facilities, 50,000 from the Indian government and 165,000 from MTN.
The Ghana Health Service has indicated that, according to its statistics, about 500,000 people in Ghana have received their first blow.
Ghana began its national COVID-19 vaccination campaign on March 2, 2020, and President Akufo-Addo and his vice together with their spouses received the vaccine on Monday, March 1, 2021.
Meanwhile, Ghana’s Food and Drug Authority (FDA) has announced that Ghana could begin importing COVID-19 vaccines without bulk packaging.
